Graced by the presence of Eastern Cape Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture MEC Honourable Nonceba Kontsiwe, the ceremony was a celebration of Adams’ remarkable achievements. Just a few weeks prior, he had been honored with both the Sports Star of the Year and Sports Man of the Year awards at the prestigious Eastern Cape Achievers Awards on the 22nd of September 2023 held at East London International Convention Centre.

” I’m really happy, this has been a very long journey coming to this there has been a lot of sacrifices, determination and prayers from my parents as well it was not easy but today I’m here and I’m grateful I got recognition from the department,”Said Adams.

“It is very important for us to reach this stage where Luxolo receives the car as an award for his hard work as the sport man of the year because he has been through a lot, last year he was nominated but did not make it. Mainly what is important is that he grew up here and was taken to the academy and today because of the coaching he received at the academy he is sport man of the year,”Kontsiwe.
