ARBEDEEN – Three people have lost their lives while two sustained severe injuries, after single vehicle lost control and overturned on the R61 road in Arbedeen at about 30km towards Beaufort West.
The incident occurred on 3rd of January 2024 at about 14H30 on the R61 road in Arbedeen 30km towards Beaufort West, Hyundai Creta overturned.
The vehicle Hyundai Creta was travelling from Arbedeen with 5 males towards Beaufort West (Western Cape).
Driver lost control of the vehicle, 3 males, adults passengers died on the scene.
The two injured two males passenger and driver both sustained severe injuries, taken to Graff Reinet Provincial Hospital for further medical examination.
Speed cited as main contributed factor for crash.
The case of culpable homicide has been opened at Arbedeen Saps for further investigation.
