EAST LONDON – In a significant move to better the quality of education in the Eastern Cape, the provincial government has appointed 630 new principals for the upcoming academic year of 2022/2023. The aim is to provide a warm welcome to the newly recruited principals, ensuring that they settle into their roles smoothly and receive the necessary support and knowledge for their new positions.
Under the guidance of the Eastern Cape MEC of for Education, Fundile Gade, and the Head of the Department, a comprehensive program was organized to equip the recruits with essential leadership skills.
Recognizing the challenges that come with leading educational institutions, as it is important for them to be emotionally and physically ready.
The purpose is to share experience,wisdom, and insights among principal from their years of services.
Understanding that a well-rounded leader must be emotionally resilient, the program incorporated mindfulness and stress management techniques, and how to approach their responsibilities in a calm and composed manner.
The induction program concluded with a celebratory event, where the newly appointed principals were officially welcomed into their roles. MEC Fundile Gade and the Head of the Department expressed their confidence in the recruits, affirming their belief in their ability to make a positive impact on the educational landscape of the Eastern Cape.
