EAST LONDON – Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane addressed the allegations against him following the judgment given by Justice Norman. The Premier addressed the media whilst attending the BRICS Roadshow hosted by the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality in East London International Convention Centre, 20th June.
Premier Mabuyane said,” The judgement confirmed what we have always believed in, yes that was only part A and its still going to part B, where we will be looking at merits…. I had to pick up a fight on this one and fight for my rights. There are alot of students being victimised at that university.”
The Premier in his address, explained that when he was admitted he had a junior degree and the institution requested his expanded CV to be considered for RPL and on his deregistration they said he didn’t have a POE, to quote the Premier he said,” They have been changing the goal posts since then, lying and using the media to perpetuate lies me just to tarnish my image.”
Following the judgement given at Bisho high court and the University of Fort Hare being known for corruption, this really makes you wonder if there is something else at play here? Is the Premier right or is the University trying to change its corrupt ways one case at a time?
All of that might be clearer as the Premier is set to submit papers in court to challenge his deregistration and a forensic report that the university used which is a basis that the SIU used to investigate him.
According to Premier Mabuyane that report was not thoroughly looked at by the SIU.
