EAST LONDON – At the Amalinda on-ramp off the National Road two(N2) from Mdantsane, a 60 year old cyclist was in a hit and run accident where he was found dead on the road, Saturday morning.
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport said that a case of culpable homicide has been opened at the Cambridge South African Police Services(SAPS), in East London.
“If you are the person responsible for this the best thing you can do is to report to the nearest police station and cooperate because failure to do that will result into facing more serious charges,” said the Spokesperson of the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, Unathi Bhinqose.
Steps to the case being solved have been taken after few eye witnesses have given the description of the vehicle to the police.
The perpetrator is advised to come forward and admit to the crime whether it was done accidentally or otherwise.
