KWABHACA – Led by the Accounting Officer, Tobela Nota during the Council Special Council Meeting on 1st August 2023 at KwaBhaca, Cllr Nkosomzi Nomnganga was appointed as the new speaker of Umzimvumbu Local Municipality.
In accordance with the local government municipal structure a municipal council must have a chairperson to be called a speaker appointed from among the councillors of the local municipality. The municipal manager or if he is not present, a person designated by the MEC of the province, will carry out the duties of the municipal manager during elections.
Upon accepting his new role, Cllr Nomnganga said, “it is going to be a daunting task but I am prepared for every obstacle in the journey rested upon me”. Furthermore, he added the importance of working together with the council to enable him to execute his duties diligently.
The Honorable mayor of Umzimvubu local municipality, Cllr Zukiswa Ndevu congratulated Cllr Nomnganga on his new role as Council Speaker.
In addition Cllr. Ndevu confidently placed her trust on him given the experience in leadership positions.
All delegated tasks and duties by the Speaker will be performed by his as from 01 August 2023.
The Municipal Council together with the local municipality wishes him well on his new journey.
