The Women’s Empowerment Division (WED) of the Black Management Forum (BMF) in the Eastern Cape came together in the morning of the 19th of August 2023 for a special Business Breakfast and Networking Session to celebrate women’s month, the event was held in commemoration of the all female presidency of the BMF, aimed to recognize the remarkable progress made by women in leadership positions.
The highlight of the session was an inspiring speech delivered by Dr Sibongile Vilakazi the National President of the BMF.
Dr Vilakazi emphasized the inherent leadership qualities of women and their unique contributions to the corporate and business environment, Dr Vilakazi encouraged women to overcome self-doubt and celebrate their achievements.
“As a woman you are ready to lead in fact we need women leadership to save humanity from itself,” Dr Vilakazi.
In addition Vilakazi continues to encourage women to be strong and be themselves, “We are Kings and Queens and we deserve to conduct ourselves as such and live as such”.
Addressing the gathering Dr Vilakazi emphasized the indispensable role of women as life givers in society and stressed the need to provide equal opportunities for women to lead, she highlighted the relevance of women leaders and their invaluable skills to the country’s progress. Dr Vilakazi called for the creation of a conducive environment that fosters the growth and success of all individuals.
The Business Breakfast and Networking Session not only celebrated the achievements of women in leadership but also underscored the importance of gender diversity in shaping a prosperous and equitable society. It served as a platform for women representatives from various branches of the BMF in the province to connect, network and inspire each other.
The event was a resounding success, leaving attendees feeling empowered and motivated to continue breaking barriers in their respective fields.
The WED of the BMF in the province demonstrated their commitment to promoting gender equality and supporting women in leadership positions.
In spirit of togetherness fellow BMF men counterparts attended the session to pledge their support and empower themselves.
