EAST LONDON – The BRICS Roadshow that took place on 20th June was hosted in East London.
The Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM)Executive Mayor Princess Faku opened up the event by welcoming the international guests and highlighting the success of the previous BRICS roadshow success in the province.
Cllr. Faku made mention the friendship business partnership that managed to benefit 20 students to China back in 2018.
Cllr. Faku said,”We shall strive to focus on tourism and agriculture in the BCMM.”
BRICS have opened up job opportunities for the province and trade relations with China between 2018 and 2023.
Minister of Small Business Development, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams had this to say, “The month of June is a critical month with all discussions being taken into consideration.”
The purpose of the partnerships of the five nations that form BRICS is needed for equitable economical growth.
Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane highlights the efforts they have made in road infrastructure to prepare the province for economical growth in agriculture and tourism. According to the the Kei Mouth road that has been a concern for a long time has been surfaced from Kei Mouth to Centane Town and that all that is left is the brigde to abandon the farey that has been long used to get vehicles across the Kei Mouth river.
In August South Africa will host BRICS summit in Gauteng province.
