EAST LONDON – Afrika Unite Cultural International Festival (AUCIF) is set for a return on 21 September 2024 at Buffalo City Stadium in East London, featuring a star-studded lineup of South African artists.
The festival, now in its 9th year, aims to promote unity and solidarity among African nations through music and cultural experiences.
The recent tensions between South Africa and Nigeria have underscored the importance of unity and cooperation in Africa. Embracing our Unity in Diversity theme, we aim to promote cross-cultural understanding, celebrate our unique differences, and strengthen ties between nations for a more harmonious continent.
Inspired by the need to address xenophobic attacks, AUCIF has grown into a significant annual event celebrating South African heritage and fostering unity. It is believed that music and culture have the power to bring people together and transcend borders.
With support from the Department of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture and other partners, AUCIF promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.
The festival’s lineup includes Ami Faku, Nkosazana Daughter, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Mr Thela, Jaziel Brothers, Dumza Maswana, MXO, Ikhona, Yamke, Luckett Mfowethu, Volo Da Saint, Dj Cue and Blackman.
The festival organizer Luzuko Khohli said, “AUCIF is more than just a music festival. It’s a celebration of our African heritage and a platform for fostering unity and understanding amongst Africans.”
The events’ media relations manager Sinethemba Gayiza added, “Our festival aims to bring people together through music, food, and fashion, showcasing the diversity of African cultures and languages.”
