EAST LONDON – C-Tone Productions presents the highly anticipated Africa Unite Cultural International Festival(AUCIF) on 30th September 2023 at East London’s Police Park Stadium. The festival aims to foster African unity through the power of sports, entertainment and arts.
The festival originally established by Luzuko Khohli Founder of C-Tone Productions during the 2015 xenophobic attacks seeks to bring together Africans from all nations and backgrounds. Recognizing the influential voices, dance and soccer skills of celebrated figures seen on TV and heard on the radio, Khohli aimed to utilize entertainment and sports as a means to create harmony and integration among Africans.
The festival will kick off with an exhibition soccer match featuring football legends like Mzunani Mgwigwi, Patric Mayo, Wilfred Mugeyi and Dennis Vukubi ,the music line-up takes center stage with renowned artists such as Betusile Mcinga, Nathi Mankayi, Amanda Black, Sjava, and Lloyiso.
Sinethemba Gayiza AUCIF Media Manager expressed excitement about the festival’s first outdoor edition at the larger Police Park Stadium. Previous AUCIF events enjoyed tremendous support, which motivated the festival to expand beyond its comfort zone.
Apart from the captivating performances attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in local food and appreciate the craftsmanship of vendors offering a wide array of African crafts at the venue. This not only encourages a sense of community but also supports local businesses and artisans.
The Africa Unite Cultural International Festival is made possible by the support of the National Arts Council, the Presidential Employment Stimulus Program and the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture.
