Portfolio head of Infrastructure and Planning at Buffalo City Metro, Nceba Ncunyana, has been gunned down late Wednesday afternoon on the N2 near Ntabozuko formerly known as Berlin.
Multiple armed assailants are said to have opened fire on the vehicle which Ncunyana was travelling in alongside one of his colleagues. The colleague is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
South African Police Services and BCM have declined to comment at this stage as the investigation is at its earliest stages and out of respect to the family of Ncunyana.
