DUTYWA – A poet and praise singer Nomfusi Potelwa was allegedly shot by an unknown suspect in her home in Elokishini in Dutywa, Eastern Cape in front of her two children last night with an unknown motive.
After learning about the disturbing news, the MEC of Eastern Cape’s Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Nonceba Kontsiwe called on the law enforcement agencies to work hard on bringing for the creative Potelwa. “In the manner she was killed, the murder of Nomfusi Potelwa is appalling especially as it happens in Women’s month it speaks of the ill mannered society that has no respect for the lives of women and children. She was not just a creative, but also a teacher and a community builder. We suffered a loss as a province”.
Kontsiwe pleads with the law enforcement to speed up the investigation process so that whoever is responsible for this gruesome act can be brought to justice. “We send our most sincere condolences to the Potelwa’s family particularly her children”, added Kontsiwe.
